You need Windows and a supported MetaTrader 5 installation. GunterChart remains alpha software; start in DEMO. Review Known issues before purchase. No unsupported portable/broker/display compatibility is promised.
Before opening Helper: Open only the official Helper file you deliberately downloaded. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” because the app is not recognised, select More info, check that it is the expected GunterChart Helper, then Run anyway. For malware alerts, unexpected files, connection/certificate failures or an unavailable Run anyway option, stop and contact support. Do not turn off protection software.
Extract the complete ZIP: keep channel.json and licensing-deployment.json beside GunterChartUpdater.exe, which opens as GunterChart Helper. Keep Helper available while using the chart workspace.
- Open your GunterChart licence/download email on the intended Windows PC. Download and extract the official Helper ZIP. Read the pre-opening Windows guidance above, then open Helper and enter the emailed licence code to Activate. This download is Helper; install GunterChart into MT5 only after activation using the next step.
- Choose the MT5 terminal you intend to use and select Install GunterChart. If Helper asks you to close that terminal, close it normally. Reopening stays under your control; do not close trades or remove broker-held stops as an installation step.
- Open that terminal. Helper prepares eligible saved charts and leaves charts using another expert advisor unchanged. If your intended chart has no GunterChart workspace, open MT5’s Navigator, find Expert Advisors → GunterChart → GunterChart, and attach it to that chart. Follow any specific permission message shown by Helper or MT5. Start on a demo account before live use.
Verification: Daily at 22:15 Europe/London, catch-up when MT5 is running and online; seven days from the last successful authenticated check. New risk may pause after that even during a server outage. Closing, cancelling and risk reduction remain available. Valid lifetime owners returning after months away can renew verification online without repurchase.
If the download link expires, check purchase status for a fresh link where available or contact support. A download expiry is not licence expiry. If activation fails, compare the code privately with the email and share the exact status/version, never the full code. Do not bypass signature/hash failures, overwrite newer files, uninstall as a generic repair or force-restart MT5. For a sixth PC, lost PC or inaccessible mailbox, request verified support recovery.
